Whether it happened by intention or happenstance, Facebook has become a social media marketing tour de force. With the introduction of a new website designed to attract agencies and marketers – Facebook Studio – the social network has staked its own claim as a marketing platform.
Facebook Studio is a place to celebrate marketers who are creating and innovating on Facebook. This is a community where you can share your work, get recognized for your creativity, be inspired by your peers, and browse a collection of work that represents some of the best marketing on Facebook.
The site provides a range of resources, but, mostly, it provides examples from agencies that have used the platform for marketing. The site encourages agencies to submit their best work and add themselves to the agency directory. Examples are included in a gallery and the best are showcased in a special spotlight area.
Facebook is even working on an awards program to recognize excellence in the use of the platform for marketing campaigns. Lastly, there is a learning lab for those wishing to gain a better understanding of how to use Facebook for marketing.
Most of the examples thus far appear to come from larger agencies, but that should not deter small to medium sized agencies from submitting their work.
Among its marketing products, Facebook lists Pages, Ads, Sponsored Stories, Places, Deals and Platform, which it calls “the building blocks for establishing and growing your brand with Facebook.”
The bottom line here is, if you had doubts about Facebook being used for marketing, doubt no longer.
